ABOUT THE TRAINER:
Ted Adams holds an MS, BSW and AAS and currently is a lecturer with Springfield College, Tampa, Fl. campus. He was a director of the outpatient program at St. Peters Hospital, Albany, NY.Ted was responsible in developing and maintaining volume and budget requirements.His involvement with developing and marketing of referral sources and was Chairperson of the staff development committee for the SPARC system. Ted’s background also includes being a workshop facilitator, case manager and supervisor of new staff and students.
He developed and implemented curriculum for job readiness workshops.Developed and maintained relationships with employers in the Capital District for internship and job opportunities for clientsHe facilitated groups that had both a process and educational component and worked closely with the treatment teams to provide the client with the best possible care.
COURSE SYNOPSIS:The goal of this training is to help participants: 1. develop an understanding of the biological, cognitive, and social development of adolescents; 2. identify the role of family and peers in adolescent addiction; and explore the impact of school, society and the criminal justice system on adolescent addiction prevention.
