Professional of the Year 2012

Since 1983, the Florida School of Addictions Studies, Inc. has annually recognized a professional in the field of substance abuse treatment and/or prevention. This effort is to promulgate a feeling that the student body is very important to the leaders, supporters, and sponsors of the School.

Nominations for this prestigious award are encouraged from any and all interested parties. Current/former members of the FSAS Board of Directors are not elligible to receive this award.

Recipient Receives:

Complimentary registration for the 2012 Annual School Courses (workshops not included).

Commemorative Plaque

Recognition on FSAS Newsletters, Brochures, during the Annual School, and on the FSAS Website.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A person who has worked in the addictions field for a minimum of five (5) years.
  • Professionals who provide direct services to consumers and who have consistently contributed to the field of substance abuse, distinguished themselves beyond the requirements of their jobs and demonstrated excellence in the field.
  • Those who manage direct care staff are also eligible if they routinely spend 25% of their time with the public.
  • Individuals who provide some direct service through their job or through another job or part time activity (for example) would not be eligible.
  • Current/former members of the FSAS Board of Directors are not eligible for this award.

Required Documentation

  • Complete the Nomination Form, and Nominator's Letter setting forth justification for the nominee's selection as Professional of the Year.
  • Provide a Current Resume for the person nominated.
  • Provide 2 Letters of Recommendation from the nominee's colleagues, peers, supervisors, clients, or informed others who can attest to the nominee's achievements.
  • All documents must be submitted to the Operations Manager before April 2, 2012 to be considered. No nominations will be accepted after that date.
